Windset Farms has begun planting at its new 38-acre ultra-lit greenhouse in Delta, British Columbia. The facility expands Windset's total Delta operation to 130 acres, including 86 acres of ultra-lit greenhouse production — making it the largest lit-vegetable greenhouse complex in Western North America.
This is a meaningful supply story. Controlled-environment production at this scale means more consistent, year-round volume of greenhouse vegetables hitting North American retail and foodservice channels, largely insulated from the weather and outbreak risks that disrupt field production. With the Cyclospora situation still rattling fresh produce demand, indoor supply has a real moment right now.
