ShopRite, Fairway, and six more Northeast banners just joined Shipt. That's 350+ stores and a lot of fresh produce on the platform.

Shipt has added eight grocery banners from the Wakefern cooperative and affiliated retailers to its same-day delivery marketplace, expanding access to more than 350 stores across the Northeast. The banners include ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Fairway Market, Morton Williams, Gourmet Garage, Dearborn Market, and Di Bruno Bros — covering major markets including New York City, Philadelphia, Hartford, Baltimore, Boston, Long Island, Rochester, and Buffalo.

Wakefern is a New Jersey-based, retailer-owned cooperative and one of the largest supermarket groups in the Northeast. The deal gives customers another same-day delivery option alongside DoorDash, Instacart, and Uber Eats. A promotional offer of 50% off a first order of $50 or more is available through November 14. Darren Caudill, Wakefern's chief sales officer, framed the partnership as giving customers more ways to shop at participating banners.

For produce suppliers with programs at ShopRite or any of the participating banners, same-day delivery expansion typically increases velocity on high-turn items like bagged salads, berries, and avocados. Worth watching whether the Shipt platform integration shifts promotional programming or order patterns at the retailer level.
